Disaster Action Team Responder
American Red Cross Disaster Action Teams (DAT) are on call to provide 24-hour emergency response to respond to local disasters, particularly home fires, to provide those affected access to Red Cross services.
American Red Cross Disaster Action Team volunteers are there day and night, to turn tragedy into hope.
• These volunteers provide immediate comfort and care to families by ensuring they have a safe place to sleep, food to eat and clothes to wear as well as providing emotional support.
• Red Cross services provided by a Disaster Action Team Responder may include direct client assistance for disaster-caused needs; distribution of relief supplies; initial recovery services including referrals, advocacy and canteen services.
